New/Used Cooker Connection
Electric Cooker Connection
Have you have got, or are planning to get a new cooker delivered and need it connecting? It will cost £35 to fit to an existing suitable point. If parts are needed, eg. a cable between outlet and cooker, then it will be an extra £5.
Unfortunately if the existing point is not safe to connect to we will not put you and your family at risk by connecting it and will have to cover our costs by charging for the visit.
The photo on the left shows an existing cooker where we would not be able to connect a new electric cooker. In this case the cooker control switch is not in a safe position. The socket is also unsafe – causing risk of flexes and socket being damaged by heat.
The solution would be to relocate the cooker control unit and socket. Note:- There shouldn’t be anything within 90mm of each side or directly behind the cooker.
If you are unsure I’ll be pleased to advise free - please email me including:
- Your address
- A photo of your fusebox
- A photo of the cooker position
Where fitting the appliance can’t be done safely we will try every possible means to ensure we can at minimal extra cost.
Commonly needed parts are brought with us and cost no more than £5.
In more unusual circumstances such as you have no cooker circuit / suitable point we will arrange a quote for any work required.
